Mistral is an advanced easy-to-use multi-mineral log analysis software for multi-well log interpretation and evaluation of petrophysical uncertainties.\u2028The approach to formation evaluation is a multi-log inversion, based on a constrained Gauss-Newton optimization method. It is particularly valuable because it provides confidence intervals for the interpretation results, coupling the Monte Carlo method to the optimization routine. The multi-solution combination option and zone sub-division make the software powerful to analyze mixed lithologies. The software output provides the volume of the system components (fluids and solids), porosity and water saturation profiles, and the associated uncertainties based on user-defined errors potentially affecting both log measurements and model parameters.<\/p>

Alternatives to conventional well testing can reduce or eliminate safety issues, environmental constraints, and potential revenue loss. However, they pose some additional difficulties in pressure data interpretation.
Aquilon can simulate production and injection from vertical wells drilled in anisotropic and heterogeneous reservoirs. Well test generally consist of a series of production\/injection flow-periods, typically with increasing\/decreasing flow rates or at times with periodic flow rate variations. Generally, each constant rate flow-period is analyzed separately; however, more information could be unlocked from the overall data if a suitable algorithm is applied.<\/p>

Calypso is standalone software which allows decomposing the recorded pressure signal in the general field or well background trend and in the sequence of transients due to rate variations. Thus, the overall decline trend due to average well production can be analyzed so that a potentially greater distance from the well can be investigated; alternatively, the sequence of transients can be isolated and interpreted if the production history follows a periodic pattern.<\/p>
